FAIR WINDS

CONDOMINIUM VILLAGE

Nokomis, FL

THE COMMUNITY
A little piece of paradise, Fair Winds Condominium Village is a 55 plus community located in the quaint community of Nokomis, Florida. Less than 1/2 mile to the turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the scenic area is known for its miles of beaches, shopping, superb restaurants, green golf courses, tennis courts, and waterways.

PROBLEM SOLVED
Residents of this community were having serious problems with their drain piping and after a previous contractor’s unsuccessful attempt to repair the drain piping, they were very upset. They turned to Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions for help. As Florida’s Leader in pipe rehabilitation, FPS provides patented pipe restoration services not available elsewhere. FPS representatives surveyed the piping, explained the needed repair and then got to work. Technicians conducted a CCTV inspection and safety cleaning of the problem area. Then did a structural CIPP Lining of 38’ of failing 4” cast iron drain piping.

SATISFACTION AT FAIR WINDS CONDOMINIUM VILLAGE
Diane Mahoney, a member of the Board, found out that Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions is more than a name. FPS really does have the solutions for any piping problems you are having. She summed up her experience here:

“Please pass on my gratitude as well as my rave reviews to Mike and Wes and all of your staff who have helped me and Maia. I have heard the nightmares from the residents who have dealt with {other companies} and the inconvenience and the mess and the emotional turmoil. I’ll admit I went into this prepared for “anything” to go wrong, but nothing did. Every single person we have interacted with was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and fast and I am so impressed and pleased with the service provided. Please feel free to pass on my name and Maia’s name to anyone who would like a reference. I just can’t say enough about Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions. I may be one of your biggest fans. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Horizon House

Clearwater Beach, FL

TAP WATER THAT LOOKED LIKE COFFEE
Coffee-colored water spurted out of faucets. Flow was unsteady. Leaks appeared. The managers of Horizon House, 125-unit community in Clearwater and one of the oldest high-rise residential buildings on Florida’s west coast, faced a plumbing dilemma. Should they have all their water delivery pipes torn out and replaced? Or, should they try a no-removal restoration of the pipes? Horizon House managers chose ePIPE®. The unique epoxy barrier coating system, offered today by Florida Pipelining Solutions, freed the community from dirty tap water and plumbing headaches. And the job was done without the pipe-replacement mess of torn-out walls, floors, and ceilings.

OLD PIPES MADE TO WORK LIKE NEW
Galvanized water and pipes aren’t good for each other. Over time, corrosion occurs. Thick clots of rust block the flow of water and even stain it dirty brown. With ePIPE, corroded pipes do not have to be removed. After it is installed, old pipes perform good as new. Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions uses a tried-and-true installation process. First, water is drained from the pipes and the interiors are blown dry with hot, pressurized air. Then, the corrosion is blasted away. The epoxy is applied to the now-smooth interior surfaces, and after a waiting period of about 24 hours, pipes are ready for use. The ePIPE system creates a barrier between pipes and water. It has restored thousands of sets of galvanized and copper pipes across the country. Residents of Horizon House, a 15-story building, got their drinking water through multiple main “riser” pipes. Work was done on a pre-set 27-week schedule. It focused on one riser area at a time and limited water shutoffs to residents to less than two days each.

DECADES WITHOUT WORRY
The project was finished in May, 2008. Horizon House managers were happy campers! They could look forward to decades without worry about old drinking water pipes. “We were able to have a great working relationship,” said Cliff Albrecht, Horizon House association manager. “The waterline shutdowns scheduled during the process were always coordinated in advance with the homeowners. There were no surprises. With the project complete, the community feels it was worthwhile. They now enjoy increased water flow, improved water quality, and are guaranteed a leak-free piping system.”

Jamaica Towers

Naples, Florida

CRACKED SANITARY PIPING
Nestled among Royal palms and located on the Gulf of Mexico, Jamaica Towers condos was built in 1969. The residents living in this 9 story building were suffering the last few years with longitudinal cracks in their cast iron sanitary stacks on a recurring basis. These cracks were happening in both their 3” and 4” vertical stacks.

HIGH PRIORITY ON INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS
Knowing they had to put an end to this problem, their Board looked into their repair options for their over 40 year old piping. During their research they made an important discovery. They found that replacement of their stacks would be very destructive to their building and equally disruptive to their condo owners. Talking with other condo owners in the area, they found that this very disruptive, messy and costly endeavor could easily be avoided by utilizing a true pipe restoration contractor and chose to go with the patented, specialized pipe rehabilitation services from Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions for help.

THE FIX FROM FLORIDA PIPE-LINING SOLUTIONS
As Florida’s Leader in pipe restoration, FPS has unique and patented pipe restoration services for potable water piping, drains, chilled water piping, and fire systems. FPS specialists met with Jamaica Towers Board members about their failing stacks. After surveying the piping, FPS then put together a plan of action for solving their problem. The first step was a thorough CCTV inspection of their stacks to determine what and where their problems were. Then working with their Board, FPS tailored a plan for them to extend over 2 summers to rehabilitate the cracked stacks. Using the Patented LMK lining system, the ASTM approved liners were installed into the cracked stacks. The continuous lining gave them leak-proof and structural repair from top to bottom.

Satisfaction at JAMAICA TOWERS
While they could have chosen to replace all of their stacks, they did their due diligence and like so many other condos in the area, called in the experts from FPS to safely and permanently solve their piping problem.

LONGBOAT KEY
TOWERS
Rehabilitation of Chilled and
Domestic Water Piping

BACKGROUND
Built in 1970, this unique twin tower architectural condominium is comprised of 88 units with incomparable views of the Gulf of Mexico and every apartment has balcony exposure to the east and west.

PUTTING A HIGH PRIORITY ON INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS
Suffering from leaks in both their domestic water piping and in their chilled water piping, LBKT was faced with replacing the piping in their 12 story towers. Knowing this would be cost prohibitive as well as disruptive to their residents, they wisely looked into their options. After extensive research and checking with other associations in the area, they were referred to Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions. Meeting with FPS about their piping situation, they discovered that FPS is a full service pipe restoration company, providing inspection, cleaning, and patented pipe restoration services, some of which are unique and unavailable elsewhere, for rehabilitating domestic water and chilled water systems. In addition, FPS also provides CIPP lining for vertical stacks, roof drains, and underground drain piping. With over 46 years of commercial plumbing and pipe restoration experience V.P. of Operations, David Baker then put together a plan of action to rehabilitate their domestic and chilled water systems.

THE FIX FROM FLORIDA PIPE-LINING SOLUTIONS
FPS Technicians performed an ePIPE® restoration of the common water piping, replaced the 4” domestic water mains under the slabs, and installed separate isolation valves for each tower. To address the chilled water system, FPS replaced the mains and conducted an ePIPE® restoration of the chilled water risers. With 16 patents and approved around the world, the proven ePIPE® system from FPS stands without peer as the cost effective answer for restoring potable water piping, chilled water piping, and fire systems.

SATISFACTION AT LONGBOAT KEY TOWERS

After completion, owners were very happy with the results and especially the expertise, quality workmanship, and extra care that Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions puts into their work.

Galvanized Risers
Were Leaking At
Redington Towers

in Redington Beach, Florida

Water Leaks From Galvanized Riser Piping
As one of the tallest condos on the Pinellas beaches, Redington Towers stands high above all others in the area in both stature and luxury. Leaks from their old galvanized risers would have to go, so they looked for answers. The Board could have decided to replace the leaking risers, which would mean tearing up their walls and core drilling floors to remove and replace their failing risers. After talking with other condo associations in the area, they found the same proven solution to their problem that numerous condos and school districts across Florida choose for safely restoring their piping.

The Fix From Florida Pipe-Lining Solution And ePIPE®
Their search for a safe and permanent answer led them to the neater, less stressful solution: ACE DuraFlo ePIPE®. Holder of 8 patents, the unique ePIPE® barrier coating system from Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions restores failing galvanized and copper water pipes to a like-new condition without the big mess and disruption pipe replacement causes. After calling in FPS to survey the piping at Redington Towers, the FPS Project Manager found 6 failing risers with pinhole leaks. These galvanized “riser” pipes ran 180′ from floor to roof supplying water to all of their units. The pipes were as old as the building, which meant that corrosion – the inevitable result when water touches metal – had been going on inside them for decades.

The FPS Techs shut off the water supply and drained the system. Using compressed air and sand, Techs safely cleaned the interior of the piping to remove the years of corrosion. Then they installed the ePIPE® epoxy barrier coating. After curing, the newly restored risers were put back on line and the entire system tested.

Satisfaction At Redington Towers
With the smooth porcelain-like finish on the inside of the risers, the cycle of corrosion was now broken. The patented ePIPE® lining meant that water no longer touched metal in the riser piping. The interiors were smooth, corrosion-free, and warranted not to leak for years to come.

Redington Towers Maintenance Director, John Bireley, praised the professionalism of Mike Larson, Project Manager and the FPS crew. Residents felt comfortable and safe as work progressed and they were also impressed by how neat the FPS crew kept the job site. “Mike and the guys (especially Mike) were great and deserve a great deal of credit for a job very well done!” said John Bireley. “We have and will continue to recommend your services to all who ask.”

Sea Towers
Heritage Building

St. Petersburg, Florida

WATER WHERE IT SHOULD NOT BE
The water that concerned managers of the high-rise Heritage Building in St. Petersburg was not the nearby, beautiful Boca Ciega Bay. It was water seeping from failed pipes in the building itself. Numerous pinhole leaks had occurred. Living spaces were damaged and an unoccupied unit developed mold. And Heritage managers knew the aging pipes in the 37-year-old building would only cause more problems. They could have the water pipes replaced. It would mean tearing out walls and floors. Instead, Heritage management chose a neater, less stressful solution: ACE DuraFlo ePipe®. This unique and Patented epoxy barrier coating system is installed by Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions and restores the pipes to like-new condition without a big mess.

THE FIX FROM Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions AND ePIPE
FPS surveyed the piping at the Heritage, which is part of the Sea Towers complex. A “top fed” system delivered fresh water to 107 residential units on 12 floors. Nine galvanized “riser” pipes ran from floor to roof. The pipes were as old as the building, which meant that corrosion – the inevitable result when water touches metal – had been going on inside them for 37 years. The ePipe® Techs shut off the water supply, used compressed air to clean the interior of the piping, then installed the ePIPE epoxy coating. After the piping was cured, the newly restored risers were put back on line and the entire system tested.

SATISFACTION AT HERITAGE
The cycle of corrosion was broken. The epoxy lining meant that water no longer touched metal in the riser pipes. The interiors were smooth, corrosion-free, and warranted not to leak for years to come. Lois Herron, a member of the Heritage Board of Governors, praised the professionalism of ePipe® Techs from FPS. Residents felt comfortable and safe as work progressed. They were impressed by how neat the crew kept the job site. “I think a lot of it was the people they hire,” Herron said. “Very professional. Nice to work with.“ She added, “We would definitely recommend them to anyone who is interested in having this kind of work done.”

TRIANON CONDOMINIUM

CONDENSER WATER PIPING

West Palm Beach, Florida

THE PROBLEM
The Trianon Condominium is one of the few intracoastal buildings in West Palm Beach and each of the condo units share pristine views of the water and Palm Beach Island. Having a cooling tower/water source heat pump A/C system in Florida means it must be in good repair to deal with Florida’s heat and humidity. Proper water treatment had not been maintained at the Trianon. After finding and repairing a split in their condenser piping, they noticed the overall condition on the piping was failing.

PUTTING A HIGH PRIORITY ON INFRASTRUCTURE NEEDS
Replacing this piping in the 19 story building would be cost prohibitive so they wisely looked into their options. After extensive research and checking with other associations in the area, they were referred to Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions for help with their system.

THE FIX FROM FLORIDA PIPE-LINING SOLUTIONS

FPS Representatives met with the Trianon association about the situation and then put together a plan of action to restore the failing black steel condenser piping. Varying in size from 1½” to 4″ in diameter, the condenser piping was first disconnected at the water source heat pumps. Then all the vertical piping was cleaned from the roof down. After the piping was clean, FPS Technicians installed the ePIPE® Barrier Coating System to all of the piping. As the originator and holder of 12 US Patents and approved across the globe, the proven ePIPE® system from Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions stands without peer as the cost-effective, non-destructive answer for restoring chilled water piping, condenser piping, potable water piping, and fire systems.

SATISFACTION AT THE TRIANON
FPS spent more time than originally planned on the restoration of the Trianon condenser piping due to the condition of their piping, but the final results were most impressive. Lonnie Vanderwerf, LCAM for the Trianon had this to say about the project “we were very satisfied with the professionalism of the FPS staff and the quality of their work.”

Winston Gateway
Condominiums

St. Petersburg, Florida

BOTHERSOME PIPE BLOCKAGES IN ST. PETERSBURG
It seemed to Fred Ortiz that the Winston Gateway condo buildings in St. Petersburg were having “heart attacks.” Small water pipes that ran through the concrete floors became clogged, again and again. Ortiz, president of the Winston Gateway board, had to help choose a long-term solution. The buildings were 40 years old. The galvanized pipes – called “condensate lines” – carried condensation water from the air conditioners. Age had caused corrosion, which in turn caused the repeated blockages. Ortiz and other managers could have gone the “major surgery” route and authorized the tearing out of walls and floors to replace pipes. Instead, they chose a neater, more cost-effective solution: Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions and the ACE DuraFlo ePipe® process.

Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions AND ePIPE: A PROFESSIONAL JOB
Each building had three stories. The small-diameter galvanized pipes ran through every floor. Experienced Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions crews used the ePipe® system to restore the old pipes to better-than-new. Crews first disconnected the lines from the air conditioners. Their interiors were dried, sanded, and finally coated with the Patented epoxy lining. Nearly everything was done with compressed air. There was no need for tearing apart walls or floors. “They handled everything professionally,” said Ortiz. “The product was good.”

PUTTING WORRIES IN THE PAST
Winston Gateway has five buildings. FPS restored the condensate lines in one building in 2009 and the lines in another building in 2010. Before the work, the two buildings had lots of water backups. Now, managers are guaranteed years of worry-free use of the condensate lines, because ePipe® stops the corrosion process completely. Ortiz said Winston Gateway managers have tentative plans to bring the ePipe® crews from Florida Pipe-Lining Solutions back to work on a third building. “It would be nice to put this issue to bed,” he said. “I would absolutely recommend them.”
